THE PROJECT
A framework
for everyday life.
Rambagh Defence Colony brings plotted development, shared open spaces and community amenities into a connected neighbourhood framework. The layout establishes a clear relationship between individual plots, internal streets and the places residents share.
Defined east and north entrances give the colony a sense of arrival. A commercial frontage, landscaped parks, outdoor exercise spaces and informal gathering zones add activity at different scales, while the temple offers a quieter focal point within the development.
Clear connections.
Shared places.
The planning approach considers the street as more than a route between plots. Trees, lighting, defined edges and small places to pause bring everyday life into the movement network. Parks and gathering spaces introduce moments of openness within the plotted fabric.
The temple concept draws from the square geometry of the garbhagriha and reinterprets the shikhara through layered forms. Planting around the complex connects this architectural focal point with the wider landscape.
